What this is

There’s a site skin going around that flags fics whose HTML contains a class Claude’s interface attaches to copy-pasted text. Whatever you think of that project, people are getting flagged for things as small as running one paragraph through an AI beta pass — or they simply want to check their own works before someone else does.

This page scans a chapter’s HTML for every known paste artifact and removes them without touching your words or your formatting. It checks for:

Why you can trust it

It’s one file with no server behind it. It makes zero network requests — right-click and View Page Source to read every line, or save the page to your computer (File → Save Page As), turn off your wifi, and it works exactly the same. Nothing you paste here leaves your browser.

What a result means

These artifacts show only that text passed through an AI interface’s clipboard at some point. They aren’t proof a fic was AI-written, and their absence isn’t proof of anything either. This just takes the hidden-markup question off the table.

How to get your chapter's HTML out of AO3 (and back in)
  1. On AO3, open the work → Edit (or Edit Chapter for a specific chapter).
  2. In the text editor, click the HTML button (top right of the editor toolbar) to switch out of Rich Text view.
  3. Select all the HTML, copy it, and paste it below.
  4. Scan, scrub, then copy the cleaned HTML and paste it back into the same HTML view, replacing what was there.
  5. Preview before posting, then save. Repeat per chapter — each chapter's HTML is separate.
